OHYAC
The San Francisco Bay Area Out of Home Youth Advocacy Council ("OHYAC" or "the Council") is working to improve care and outcomes for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning ("LGBTQ") youth and families involved in the California foster care system.

OHYAC brings together multiple stakeholders involved in the provision of foster care with the goal of making lasting on the ground improvements for LGBTQ youth and families involved with the child welfare system.

We are a collaborative project of Family Builders by Adoption, Legal Services for Children, and the National Center for Lesbian Rights and have over 70 members throughout the five Bay Area counties from a diverse array of organizations and agencies that serve or advocate for youth and families.
